What Are the Requirements for the Warehouse for the Storage of Bearings?

Rolling bearings are high-precision mechanical components, and their internal and surface quality requirements are very strict. Therefore, the bearings in stock must be kept well to prevent them from being damaged during the inventory period without being used, reducing the accuracy or deteriorating the quality.

Ⅰ. Bearing warehouse management needs to meet the following requirements:

(1) Avoid damage to the bearing during handling;

(2) Prevent the bearing from rusting during the inventory period;

(3) Minimize the loss of precision during inventory;

(4) Ensure the supply of bearings, and will not affect production due to shortages;

(5) Reasonably adjust the goods, do not let the bearing backlog for too long;

(6) Investigate statistics and comparative analysis on the use of bearings, and summarize experience, so as to improve the supply, inventory, use and selection of bearings.

Ⅱ. The storage requirements of the bearing to the warehouse

1. Requirements for warehouse temperature

The temperature bearings are coated with anti-rust oil before leaving the factory, and the high-precision bearings even have wooden boxes and plastic boxes for storage. If the temperature is too low or too high, the anti-rust oil will deteriorate. The room temperature should be controlled between 5-25 °C, the maximum should not exceed 30 °C, and the minimum should not be lower than 4 °C. Otherwise, temperature adjustment measures should be adopted, and the storage warehouse should avoid direct sunlight.

2. Regulations on the humidity of the warehouse environment

The relative humidity of the warehouse used to place the bearings should be kept between 45%-60%. If the humidity in the warehouse air is too high, the humidity in the warehouse will immediately adhere to the bearing surface, causing the bearing to corrode. If the temperature difference in the warehouse is too large, it is very easy to cause the moisture in the air to solidify into water mist on the bearing surface, causing the bearing to rust.

3. Requirements for the bearing warehouse environment

Bearings are best stored in a separate category. When they must be stored together with other items, other items stored together should not be chemicals such as acids, alkalis, and salts. The bearing should be placed on a wooden support 0.2m or more away from the ground, away from heating pipes, sinks and water pipes.

During the storage period of the bearing, the oil and wax layer should be kept intact, and it should not be mixed with other miscellaneous parts and tools to avoid collision deformation and corrosion.

4. Requirements for regular inspection of bearings

The rust prevention period of the bearing is divided into six months, one year and two years. The rust-proof period for bearings that need to be installed and used in the short term is half a year. Generally, the starting date of the calculation of the rust-proof period of the bearing is based on the date marked on the product's factory certificate. According to the regulations on rust prevention of bearing products, regular inspections are carried out every 10 to 12 months. If the oil seal packaging is found to be rusted, the oil seal packaging should be re-packaged.

5. Requirements for bearing horizontal placement

Bearings with an outer diameter of less than 200mm can be placed horizontally on a shelf, and extra-large bearings should be stored horizontally on a wooden bracket to avoid elliptical deformation of the bearing.

The storage work of the bearing also needs to be carried out according to strict standards to ensure its subsequent normal use! Hope the above content can help you!
