Anti-rust and Cleaning Method of Drawn Cup Needle Bearing

1. Four methods of rust prevention of needle roller bearings

(1) First, clean the bearing surface: the cleaning method must be selected according to the nature of the anti-rust surface and the conditions at that time. Generally, there are more solvent cleaning methods, chemical treatment cleaning methods and mechanical cleaning methods.

(2) After drying and cleaning, the surface of the bearing can be dried with filtered dry compressed air, or dried with a dryer at 120-170 degrees Celsius, or dried with a clean gauze.

(3) Immersion method: The drawn cup needle bearing is immersed in anti-rust grease, and a layer of anti-rust grease is adhered to its surface. Oil film thickness can be achieved by controlling the temperature or viscosity of the anti-rust grease.

(4) There is also the rust of the drawn cup needle roller bearing caused by human hand sweat. Human sweat is a colorless, transparent or pale yellow liquid with a salty taste and weak acidity, and its pH value is 5-6. In addition to sodium, potassium, calcium, and magnesium salts, it also contains a small amount of organic acids such as urea, lactic acid, and citric acid. When sweat comes into contact with the bearing surface, a sweat film is formed on the bearing surface. The sweat film can cause electrochemical action on the bearing, corrode the bearing, and thus produce rust. It is unavoidable for people to sweat. The way to prevent rust caused by hand sweat is that the production personnel should wear gloves and finger cots when assembling the bearings, or use special tools to take the bearings, and do not touch the surface of the needle roller bearing casually.

2. Cleaning methods of needle roller bearings

After the mechanization of industrial production, the use of machinery and equipment has become more and more extensive, and its types have also increased. On this basis, bearing products have also been developed to a great extent, and needle roller bearing is one of the more common ones. Although needle bearings, like other workpieces, get dirty over time, the cleaning method is different.

(1) Fine cleaning of needle roller bearing cleaning method

When cleaning, you need to prepare neutral and water-free diesel or kerosene as a cleaning agent. Of course, warm lye can also be used as needed. Then turn the needle bearing slowly in the oil and clean it carefully. In addition, after cleaning, the bearing surface should be coated with anti-rust oil or anti-rust grease, which has a good anti-rust effect.

(2) Coarse cleaning of needle roller bearing cleaning method

Use tools such as brushes to remove grease or adhesions on the surface of the needle roller bearing directly, but be careful not to damage the surface of the needle roller bearing.

(3) Purpose of cleaning and maintaining needle roller bearings

There are two main aspects. On the one hand, it is to keep the needle roller bearing in an ideal operating state and prolong its service life. On the other hand, it is to give full play to the performance of needle roller bearings, so that the mechanical equipment can operate normally.
